Eugenia ("Genie") Wooten Iredale practices complex business litigation and has been involved in a wide range of cases involving employment law, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, shareholder disputes, and construction law. She has also been involved in several high-profile white-collar crime and civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) cases. Ms. Iredale has developed specialized expertise in advising employees and employers regarding their rights under restrictive covenants in employment agreements. She also counsel and represents clients in cases involving the theft of electronic data under the Georgia Computer Systems Protection Act and the Georgia Trade Secrets Act.
Representative cases illustrating the breadth of Ms. Iredale's practice include:
- Maples v. UHS of Georgia, Inc., --- F.Supp.2d ----, 2010 WL 2308206 (N.D. Ga. 2010). Ms. Iredale and Mr. Fellows successfully represented a corporate defendant against employment discrimination claims asserted under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).
- Lowdon PTY Ltd. v. Westminster Ceramics, LLC, 534 F.Supp.2d 1354 (N.D. Ga. 2008). Ms. Iredale and Mr. Fellows convinced the federal district court to assert personal jurisdiction over an Australian resident and protected their client against the entry of final judgment.
- Fowler v. Atlanta Napp Deady, Inc., 238 Ga. App. 331 (Ct. App. Ga. 2007). Ms. Iredale and Mr. LaBriola successfully represented corporate clients in a professional malpractice action against their accountants for professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. The case resulted in a May 2006 jury verdict in favor of their clients.
- Alexandro v. Priority Printer Solutions, Inc., Ms. Iredale and Mr. Fellows successfully obtained a defense verdict for their corporate client, its officers and majority shareholders in a breach of fiduciary duty action brought by a minority shareholder.
Ms. Iredale has represented clients in Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Iredale is involved in many bar and community activities. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Lamar Inn of Court at Emory University, and the Atlanta Clemson Club. Ms. Iredale serves as a board member on the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers, is a member of the Courts Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association, and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia's Bench and Bar Committee.
During 2008-2009, Ms. Iredale was selected to the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy. She has also been selected as a "Georgia Rising Star" by Georgia Super Lawyers in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011 (no individuals were selected for inclusion in 2008 Georgia Rising Stars).
Ms. Iredale graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2004. While at the University of Georgia, Ms. Iredale served as an Editorial Board member and an Articles Editors on the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. She was also involved in student efforts to raise money for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Prior to law school, Ms. Iredale earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Biological Sciences from Clemson University in 2001. Upon graduation, she was awarded with the prestigious Faculty Scholarship Award for attaining the highest academic average in her graduating class and the Matt Locke Award for "outstanding leadership with regard to service and devotion to humankind and Clemson University." While at Clemson, Ms. Iredale served in a number of roles including Student Senate President.
Ms. Iredale and her husband, Brent, live in Atlanta.
