Thomas J. Mihill is a litigator whose practice encompasses a wide range of complex business disputes, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property, construction, and property disputes. Mr. Mihill is a licensed Georgia Neutral who has mediated more than 150 cases with both pro se and represented parties.
In the area of intellectual property, Mr. Mihill has counseled and represented individuals and corporations in both bringing and defending against trademark and copyright infringement claims, trade secret violations, and cybersquatting actions. Mr. Mihill has also represented musicians and artists in licensing and royalty disputes.
Mr. Mihill has represented contractors, subcontractors, and property owners in construction disputes, including filing, perfecting, and defending against liens. Mr. Mihill also works extensively in the area of property law, with experience in premises liability actions, landlord/tenant disputes, and easement issues.
Mr. Mihill's practice also covers a wide variety of other business litigation issues, including actions to enforce or defend against restrictive covenants, professional liability actions, and RICO actions. Mr. Mihill has tried cases and represented clients at the state and federal level, in Georgia and nationwide.
Mr. Mihill is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Cobb County Bar Association. Mr. Mihill is also involved with Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, a non-profit organization which provides pro bono and low-cost legal referrals and services to artists in Georgia. Mr. Mihill produced and directed GLA's monthly television program, The Artist's Advocate.
Mr. Mihill is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law, where he was Student Writing Associate Editor of the Georgia State Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mihill achieved a Master's degree in English Literature and taught English and Composition classes at the college level.
