Christina M. Baugh


CHRISTINA BAUGH is a litigator whose practice is comprised of a wide range of business litigation including intellectual property, shareholder disputes, officer liability, insurance coverage, tort claims, commercial litigation, employment litigation and property disputes.  She has successfully represented clients in matters in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration.

Intellectual Property:

Christina regularly represents clients in disputes regarding their intellectual property rights.  Her practice includes disputes relating to patent, copyright, and trademark rights.  Representing a wide range of clients, from small, family owned companies to multi-billion dollar corporations, she ensures that her clients’ rights are protected.  Representative cases include:

  • Representing a small company protecting its trademark from damage caused by later use by a multi-billion-dollar company.
  • Representing an international company protecting its patent rights from infringement by a competitor in the United States, including at overlapping retail stores.
  • Representing a foreign game manufacturer protecting its copyright rights against a knock-off game.
  • Defending a medical product company against claims of false advertising surrounding the marketing of a product.
  • Representing a family-owned company protecting its design patent rights against a competitor’s infringement.

Commercial Litigation:

Christina represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of commercial matters.  She routinely handles business “divorces”- disagreements between business partners often necessitating the transfer of ownership and management duties in addition to addressing allegations of wrongdoing- as well as other actions alleging officer or director liability, shareholder disputes, and employment matters.  Christina has assisted clients in coverage dispute matters, attempting to obtain coverage for claims through their insurance policies.  Representative cases include:

  • Representing two owners and officers in against claims of breaches of fiduciary duties, misappropriation of company assets, and other allegations by their business partner.
  • Representing a former officer against a claimed breach of his covenant not to compete and in collecting moneys owed to him at the end of his employment.
  • Representing a medical product manufacturer against claims of commissions owed.
  • Representing a family-owned company in collecting unpaid commissions and challenging unreasonable non-compete provisions at the end of the sales relationship.
  • Representing a company harmed by a former employee taking trade secrets and sensitive business information to a competitor.
  • Representing a company pursuing claims of fraud against a former officer.
  • Representing a personal guarantor against claimed amounts owed that were not covered by the guaranty.

Christina is authorized to practice in Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Christina is involved in many bar activities and community service organizations:

Christina graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2007.  While at the University of Georgia, Christina served as co-coordinator of the Closing Argument Competition, as well as competing as an advocate on two Mock Trial Teams.  During her third year of law school, Christina gained trial experience practicing under Georgia’s Third-Year Practice Act.  Working in Gwinnett County’s Solicitor’s office, she argued several criminal motions and served as second-chair in several jury trials.  Christina was also a Pupil in the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court.

Prior to law school, Christina earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neurological Behavioral Biology from Emory University in 2003.

Christina lives in Ormewood Park with her husband, two children, and two dogs.  She enjoys running and enjoying local attractions and festivals.
